In the agri-food sector, managing stocks and deliveries is essential to guarantee product quality and availability. The company called A* is well aware of this. With over 20 years' experience and international recognition thanks to their 200 shops, the company was facing a number of problems. Recently, it decided to optimise its inbound deliveries thanks to Satelix Logistics. Find out how in this first case study: "Logistics goods reception" 👇🏻

Before working with Satelix, company A. was facing several major challenges:

  1. The receiving process was based on a paper Supplier Purchase Order;
  2. Receiving was done by hand by the company's warehousemen, in a "pen and paper" fashion;
  3. Return of finalised documents to the offices for manual updating of stocks in the ERP system;
  4. Frequent data entry errors and distorted inventories.

The Satelix Logistics WMS offers a range of solutions

The integration and deployment of the Satelix Logistics WMS within the company has enabled a number of things to be put in place. The first step is now to open the Supplier Purchase Order directly on the barcode terminal. Each warehouse worker is equipped with a terminal so that they can access all the data on a single device. Secondly, they simply scan the items to be received and enter the quantities. In the event of errors, a warning message appears. Thirdly, the warehouse staff validate the receipt on the terminal.

All the data is fed back into the ERP system in real time. This automatically transforms the Supplier Purchase Order into a Receipt Form.

Thanks to its collaboration with Satelix, company A. has transformed its logistics by digitising its processes! In doing so, it has seen significant improvements:

  • Fewer errors. The automatisation and digitalisation of processes have drastically reduced re-keying errors.
  • Time savings. Logistics operations have become faster and less time-consuming, freeing up time for warehouse staff.
  • Stock accuracy. Automatic stock updates in the ERP improve inventory accuracy. This also reduces the risk of overstocking or understocking.
  • Reliability and product traceability. Processes are now more reliable and every operation can be traced, enabling better stock management. Traceability also makes it possible to secure customer orders.

In summary, this initial case study of company A. demonstrates the importance of adopting a high-performance WMS. As well as automating and optimising the management of stocks and goods receipts, it makes stocks and customer orders more reliable, while ensuring optimum product traceability.
